Working with me

I work with all of my clients on a month-to-month basis. My offerings range from app-based programming, for those who need less support but would like individualized workout programs, to meeting in person several times a week for training sessions.

It all depends on how much support you desire and what you can commit tokeeping in mind we can adjust as we go. I provide weekly check-ins and offer a wide variety of session types depending on where you need the most support.

Self-Guided/App Based Programs

I have developed specialized programs for a wide variety of movement abilities and fitness goals (e.g. for seniors, weight loss, athletic performance) that meet you at the level of your ability and progress from there. This is a budget-friendly option for those have the motivation to be consistent, but who desire safe, effective, and well-rounded workout programs.

Semi-Online Coaching

Semi-online coaching is great for anyone who wants a customized workout program and a consistent source of support and accountability, while completing most of their workouts independently. This option includes meeting once a month in person (or virtually), a custom app-based workout program that I review and update each month, and weekly wellness accountability and guidance.

In Person Coaching

I offer in person coaching at Prevail Strength x Movement in Madisonville, Ohio for those who want individualized, hands-on support once or twice/week. I may also be available to come to your home gym, depending on your goals and location. This option also includes a customized app-based program to use for independent workouts. This is a great option for anyone who has more specific goals in mind, desires in person coaching, or who would benefit from the extra accountability.

How I work differently

In my experience as a health and fitness professional, I've worked with people with a broad range of ability levels and goals (e.g. from high performing athletes to those who have significant mobility impediments). I've found that the key to any client's success is being flexible with our approach and adjusting over time, rather than rigidly sticking to one diet or workout regimen.
I find the classic personal training approach of guiding and motivating clients through a couple of workouts a week and hoping they stick to their nutrition and exercise program in the meantime to be limited.
I work closely with my clients to understand their mindset and relationship to their program, making adjustments as we go to help keep them consistent.
I offer the option to focus session time on a variety of areas, beyond working out. While the exercise aspect is foundational to my programs, lifestyle integration is key. I support my clients in other areas of health as desired, including nutrition coaching, grocery shopping, basic cooking lessons, mindfulness and stress reduction techniques, breathwork, discussing mindset and setting them up for healthy habit formation, or whatever else is necessary to get them on the right path to achieve their goals.

My Methods

Strength and Mobility - Range of motion alone will not protect your body from injuries. Strength alone will not protect your joints or enhance your performance. The methods I use are meant to build strength through your body's full range of motion to help prevent injuries and have you performing at your best.

Balance and Symmetry - The muscles in your body are meant to work together as on cohesive unit. Over time, your body has been thrown around so much that it has lost its natural symmetry. We will work together to get you back in balance and moving how you are meant to move.

Food as Medicine - There is no one size fits all diet that works for everyone. Different people react differently to all sorts of foods. We will work to zero in on what will have you feeling your best, balanced with foods that you enjoy so it can be a sustainable diet for you.

Lifestyle management - We will work together to develop the structure, routine, and habits that work best for YOU. This can include helping you with feeling overwhelmed in the kitchen or the grocery store, learning simple stress reduction techniques like mindfulness and breathwork, or simply finding ways to fit everything into your schedule without feeling overwhelmed.
